Frequently Asked Questions
AIHA BC-Yukon Local Section
+ Why did the website undergo this change?
The website’s structural back-end was out-of-date, and multiple new features were not operating at optimum capacity. The upgrade allows the website to have a modern design, easier browsing, stable hosting, and capability to add more features.
+ What are the new features on the website?
There are many new features, some of which have not been activated. Currently, new features include:
- Profile page for users
- New Meetings & Events page
- Capability to have an automatic membership renewal
- Improved membership module for user capability
- Payment function updated to credit card payment and offline payment
+ How do I obtain a username?
On the top right of the website, click "Members", then click "Register". Input the required information and choose a membership plan. Input the payment method. Click "Register".
Once registered you will receive an e-mail confirming your registration and your log-in information.
+ Why should I pay for membership?
The membership for the Local AIHA BC-Yukon is $35 cad/year. By paying your membership, you will have access to the members’ only section, receive the monthly newsletter, attend our monthly meetings and attend the Annual General Meeting at a discounted price. At the same time, your membership will support the organization and maintain its operating budget.
+ How do I pay my membership?
Log onto your profile through "Members" on the top right. Once in your profile, your membership status will be displayed towards the bottom of the page. An option to renew/update payment method will be available. Follow instructions after.
+ I pay my membership with my National AIHA membership, but I still receive reminder for my AIHA BC Yukon Local Section membership has expired.
AIHA National website is not linked with the AIHA BC Yukon Local Section website. The membership payment on the national website does not directly transfer to the local section web page. As a result, the executive team at local section have to wait for National to provide the remittance notification before the webmaster can manually renew your local section profile. The best way is to directly use the local section web page to renew your local membership, it is also in CAD instead of USD.
+ Do I obtain a receipt after I purchase my membership?
Yes, a receipt will be provided via email or through the website. Your history can be accessed through your profile, click on "Transaction History".
+ Why did AIHA BC Yukon local section start charging non-members a fee to attend monthly meetings?
With the return to in person meetings, the executive team returned to providing snacks and food for monthly meetings. In addition, inflation has increased cost for the larger activities such as annual general meeting, and social events. Membership receives these perks as part of their annual membership fee, it would be unfair to the membership if non-members can freely attend the in person meetings and receive the perks without having to contribute to the cost.
+ Who do I contact if I am having issues with the website or I am having trouble finding information?
