Dr. Carter has a PhD in Environmental and Occupational Hygiene from the University of Washington and has been certified in industrial hygiene by the American Board of Industrial Hygiene since 1994. She has a Masters of Public Health (in Industrial Hygiene) from the University of Alabama at Birmingham as well as an undergraduate degree from the University of Georgia in Environmental Health. She has more than 25 years of experience in the comprehensive practice of industrial hygiene with extensive experience in the petrochemical and aluminum smelting industries, and as a college professor. She also has expertise providing litigation support and testimony in cases involving asbestos and chemical exposures. She has presented at professional conferences and symposia with particular emphasis on the industrial hygiene assessment of large-scale maintenance and construction projects, welding health and safety, silica, and ventilation of confined spaces. She currently works as an Industrial Hygienist with iWorkwise in Seattle, WA.
